Position: General Practitioner/Clinical Team Lead

We are a relatively new healthcare facility in Yaoundé with a vision to provide modern and quality healthcare services in compliance with international standards. We prioritize patient care, innovative practices, and fostering a welcoming environment for both our patients and staff. We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic General Practitioner/Clinical Lead to join our team.
Role Overview:
As a General Practitioner/Clinical Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in coordinating all medical and healthcare-related activities in the clinic. You will lead a team of nursing, laboratory, and pharmacy staff, ensuring efficient delivery of care to our patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing consultations, and following up on patients, and will also have the opportunity to work closely with the CEO to review clinic data and contribute ideas for further improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Provide medical consultations and follow-up appointments to patients, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and comprehensive healthcare services.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team, including nursing, laboratory, and pharmacy staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Coordinate all medical and healthcare-related activities in the clinic, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Implement and enforce infection prevention and control procedures and standards to maintain a safe and healthy environment for both patients and staff.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients, adhering to confidentiality and data protection regulations.
- Collaborate with the CEO to review clinic data, identify areas for improvement, and propose innovative solutions to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Stay abreast of current medical research, guidelines, and best practices, incorporating them into clinical decision-making and treatment plans.
- Foster strong relationships with patients, providing empathetic and compassionate care, and addressing their needs and concerns effectively.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the medical team, providing regular feedback, mentoring, and support to enhance their professional development.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree, with a specialization in General Practice or Family Medicine.
- Strong clinical knowledge and at least 2 years of working experience as a General Practitioner.
- Fluent in both French and English, with excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office package and comfortable working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Creative and critical thinking abilities to solve problems and make informed decisions.
- Results-driven mindset, with a focus on data analysis to drive improvements in patient care and operational efficiency.
- Exceptional team spirit and ability to lead a multidisciplinary team effectively.
- Good interpersonal and people skills, with a welcoming and empathetic attitude towards patients and colleagues.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitask effectively, and adapt to changing priorities.
