Location: Centre for Research in Infectious Diseases (CRID), Yaoundé, Cameroon

Role Summary
The Centre for Research in Infectious Diseases (CRID) is seeking to recruit an experienced epidemiologist to work in the recently Unitaid-funded CANVeCT project. The key role will involve leading the field implementation of a large randomised controlled trial in Cameroon working with international partners.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and execution of epidemiological studies, including large cluster randomized trials, based on agreed protocols.

Oversee all epidemiological fieldwork and data management operations.

Develop and supervise data collection protocols and quality control systems to ensure validity, reliability, and integrity of data.

Perform advanced statistical analyses using tools such as R, Stata, Python, or SAS to assess intervention impact.

Collaborate closely with national and international research partners.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Essential

PhD in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in epidemiological research, with proven leadership in designing and conducting complex studies (e.g., cluster randomized trials, large-scale field studies).
Demonstrated expertise in malaria or other vector-borne disease research.

Strong proficiency in epidemiological data collection, analysis, and management.

Advanced skills in biostatistics and statistical software (R, GIS, Stata, SAS, SQL).
