Head of Channel and Commercial - Fintech.Brand Marketing and CVM
Missions / Responsabilités / Activités
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Cascade the Group strategy to create functional strategy aligned with the overarching business goals, under oversight of the Deputy CEO.
  • Ensure effective implementation of the functional strategy by means of providing direction, structure, frameworks, models, plans and roadmaps.
  • Oversee regular review of the functional strategy and roadmap, under oversight of the Deputy CEO, to ensure its alignment with the changing dynamics of the internal and external ecosystem.
  • Review and constantly improve the value proposition of all Distribution channels in collaboration with the various Fintech and MTN Business Heads. 
  • Execute the Commercial Operations Consumer business activation strategy by driving customer awareness, engagement, experience and monetization.
Operational DeliveryAs the functional leader of the Commercial Operations vertical, the role is accountable to:
  • Monitor and align the direction, strategy and results of the Commercial Operations vertical, collectively and as individual work areas in the OpCo, ensuring that the Group guidelines are duly complied with.
  • Measure the impact and benefit of the function to OpCo and in turn, Group FinCo and report the true-value metrics. Drive continuous improvement across all verticals. 
  • Generate visibility for the true-value contributions of the function within Group FinCo and Opco to drive greater service acceptance and adoption.
  • Implement and oversee execution of policies, procedures and guidelines set forth by group Commercial Operations team and ensure the team complies with the same.
  • Deliver results under the guidance of the Executive Fintech Commercial Operations, abiding by all the set directives and regularly reporting compliance.
  • Work with FinTech operations to identify and establish automation initiatives across the FinTech ecosystem. Facilitate tracking of automation benefits to the FinTech operations
  • Implement Group defined relevant tools to monitor Fintech Agent Network and Field Digital Channels performance at Opco level.
  • Build & maintain strategic alliances with key corporate bodies, SMEs and Government for business growth & performance.
  • Ensure regular engagement and monitoring of Partner Banks to build relationships aimed at increasing MFS growth.
  • Oversee creation of business development proposals by the team and provide input to bolster service offerings.
  • Tap industry trends and Identify emerging channels, develop strategies and oversee implementation.
  • Oversee end-to-end of commercial operations and align each vertical in a way that helps achieve the targeted revenue for the business.
  • Monitor design and execution of all marketing & branding activities (including CVM campaigns) and ensure that they are aligned with Group guidelines.
  • Provide inputs into the development of route to market plans and provide the needed logistics for efficient execution.
  • Oversee implementation of Commercial initiatives/promotions to drive subscriber activities, agent & merchant growth.
  • Oversee the management of agent network partnerships to ensure alignment with agreed operational performance requirements.
  • Support the field activation across all verticals, segments and products as necessary. 
  • Be up to date with all new FinTech related technologies to assist with operations optimisation.
  • Manage and provide support provided to merchants, agents throughout the lifecycle, right from contracting & onboarding, to training, performance monitoring, payout and offboarding.
  • Establish and ensure that appropriate control systems required for the effective operations of the department are in place.
Compétences / Exigences / Qualités
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
  • Minimum Bachelor academic degree coupled with an MBA/master’s in Marketing, Commerce, Finance, or a related field.
  •  Master’s Degree: An MBA or a Master’s in Finance, Marketing, Commerce, Data Science, Engineering or a related field will be advantageous. 
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years relevant experience in a similar position with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Fintech industry: Experience in Fintech, banking or financial services is mandatory. 
  • Commercial Strategy: Experience in developing and executing commercial strategies to drive business growth.
  • Marketing Leadership: Proven track record in leading marketing teams and campaigns, particularly in the fintech sector.
  • Product Management: Experience in managing fintech products, from development to market launch.
  • Sales and Business Development: Strong background in sales, partnerships, and business development within the financial technology industry.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Proficiency in using data analytics to inform marketing and commercial strategies.
  • Successful track record as a senior management professional in delivering exceptional business growth & financial results
  • Experience working in a global/multinational enterprise with a good understanding emerging market.
