FHI 360 is currently recruiting for the position of Driver for a five-year USAID-funded project, Cameroon Strengthening Civil Society and Community Resilience Program (SCS-CRP), with a budget of $11 million. The goal of the SCS-CRP project is to empower Cameroonians to address their needs through increased access to services and ability to advocate.
Job Summary:
The Driver position will be based in Maroua, Far North region and will report to the Director of Administration and Finance. S/he will be responsible for all activities related to the procurement of goods and services, including vendor and consultant services for the office. Manages all service and consultant contracts as well as any grants or subcontracts to ensure terms and conditions are met and contracts are kept up to date.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the direction of the Director of Administration & Finance and Operations & Finance Officer, the driver shall provide a variety of transportation support to the project.
- Convey FHI 360 Staff and Consultants to designated approved locations.
- Ensure adequate safety, cleanliness, security and maintenance of the project-assigned vehicles.
- Ensure proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, car washing, etc.
- Ensure availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, and necessary spare parts.
- Plan route and requirements by studying schedule or ad-hoc request by the office.
- Ensure passengers adhere to all road safety regulations.
- Fulfill special request by picking up and delivering items as directed and running errands,
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Secondary school certificates, apprentice certificate or any other equivalent certificates with a minimum of 1 year experience.
- Must have a trade test certificate and a valid driving license.
- Must have expert knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
- Experience as a driver mechanic will be an added advantage.
- Experience with large complex organizations preferred.
- Ability to communicate in English and French preferred.
- Authorization to work in Cameroon.
