The delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross for Central Africa in Yaoundé is looking for a candidate for the following post:
Logistician (M/HW)
(For a period of 12 months)
Standard function description:
- Supply-chain management and planning (manages and follows up on requests, provides customer desk service and carries out related reporting);
- Participation in purchase planning (purchase orders, request orders, supplier files etc.);
- Warehouse management;
- Implementation and follow-up for financial and administrative procedures;
- Fleet management;
- Import-export activities;
- Trains ICRC staff in logistics procedures.
Minimum required knowledge & experience:
- University degree or equivalent experience;
- Good command (spoken and written) of English and/or French;
- Computer proficiency / Good command of IT tools (Word and Excel);
- Three years' professional experience, preferably in commercial, military or humanitarian logistics;
- Positive attitude, open-mindedness, sensitivity to cultural diversity;
- Ability to take initiatives and fulfill responsibilities, within the framework of assigned tasks;
- Flexibility, willingness to learn, commitment;
- Flexibility to travel outside the country in case of needs;
- Sense of initiative, of confidentiality and tolerance;
- ICRC field experience an asset.
