OFFRE D'EMPLOI: PRODUCT DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

We are looking for a product design and manufacturing engineer who has a good mastery in design methodologies, engineering materials, and the selection and control of manufacturing processes used in the development, design, and manufacturing of engineering products particularly linked to the healthcare space. A great understanding of quantitative and systematic analytical techniques and methodologies that are used to solve real-life industrial product design, manufacturing controls, product failure, and materials and process selection problems will be important.

We are looking for innovators whose designs enhance people’s lives, who can integrate new concepts and prototypes and devise methods and systems to develop desirable products, from design and planning to production and delivery, for a globally competitive marketplace.

Job Description

  • Create and detail assembly drawings and associated billof-materials from sketches, existing drawings, electronic images, design concepts and/or verbal instructions using 2D/3D CAD modelling systems.
  • Work with commercial team members and with custom engineers to create and produce a design that captures all product requirements for either new or existing products.
  • Implement, research and develop design changes to improve the quality, maintainability, and cost of new and existing product lines.
  • Verify that all drawings convey accurate information.
  • 3D print and test sketch models
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is complete to allow successful transfer to manufacturing and supply chain.
  • Provide feedback to purchasing to improve the quality and performance of parts.
  • Assist with the design, testing and documentation of assemblies, packaging and fixtures.
  • Check design work of other team members including layout, form, fit, function, materials, specification callouts, dimensioning and other outputs as requested.
  • Improve and/or develop engineering calculations / computer programs in order to increase the accuracy of Bills of Material, parts, etc.
  • Interface with crossfunctional team members to resolve any open issues or questions.
  • Interact with vendors and/or customers on engineering design specifications and requirements.

Qualifications and Skillset

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma/Certification in mechanical engineering, design, or equivalent experience
  • 2 or more years of relevant design experience and CAD tools and 3D printing will be an asset
  • 2 or more years of experience with design of healthcare related products will be an asset
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD (SolidWorks experience a plus)
  • Multitasking abilities to drive critical issues simultaneously
  • Resourcefulness, commitment, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French will be an added value
  • Strong organization, planning, and presentation skills
  • Ability to be responsive to requests and tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently towards timely completion of a desired goal.
  • Former experience or skills as a sales engineer will be an advantage
