Job Title: Regional field support consultant

Job Openings: 02 (Centre and Littoral Regions)

Report to: Associate Regional Officer (ARO)

Contract Duration: Six (06) months renewable

Possible start date: Immediate/ April 2020.

The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) is a global leader in the fight against pediatric HIV and AIDS, working in 19 countries and at over 5,500 sites around the world to prevent the transmission of HIV to children, and to help those already infected stay alive. Today, thanks to our programmatic technical excellence and the depth of our experience, transmission of HIV from Mother to Child has been significantly reduced globally with Zero Transmission in the UNITED States. With a growing global staff of over 1,000 - 9 of 10 who work in the field – to support the Foundation’s global mission to eliminate pediatric HIV and AIDS by implementing HIV prevention, care, and treatment programs. The Foundation also suppoert further advance innovative research; and to execute strategic and targeted global advocacy activities to bring dramatic change to the lives of millions of women, children, and families worldwide. Through a grant from UNITAID, EGPAF will introduce and scale-up Catalyzing Pediatric Tuberculosis (CaP-TB) in nine African countries and India. This four-year project will cover 50 facilities across 03 Regions in Cameroon. The Project will enable the testing of up to 8292 presumptive pediatric TB cases using GeneXpert platform, initiating up to 12853 pediatric TB contact cases on Preventive Therapy and initiate up to 909 diagnosed children 0-14yrs on DS-TB.

Purpose of the Consultancy

The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation is seeking to recruit 02 UNITAID CaP-TB Regional Field Support Consultants for the Centre and Littoral regions. The Consultant will work under the technical guidance of Associate Regional Officer (ARO) to strengthen the Programmatic Aspects of Project Implementation as well as supporting the CaP TB community base activities at district levels.

Scope of work

Key deliverable

1

Carryout site monitoring visits to ensure proper implementation of project activities

  • Regular weekly site visit plan
  • Provide site visit report including RACI matrix

CaP TB commodity Stock Monitoring at site and regional level.

  • Proper stock keeping of project materials delivered by vendors.
  • Develop a distribution plan for project materials in stock at the regional office, to the various sites within the region.
  • Ensure that project materials are available in all sites and in the right quantity to avoid stockout
  • Provide a weekly stock monitoring report per site
  • Ensure that materials provided to sites are used for the intended purpose.

Data Management

  • Collects project data collection tools during site visits
  • Fill the form collection log
  • Ensure availability of SOPs and Job aids for filling project tools at the appropriate units in the health facility
  • Ensure proper archiving of project forms at the site
  • Ensure proper documentation of project activities in the appropriate primary source documents.

Community base activities

  • Work with District focal points to supervise community base activities of CaP TB
  • Verify and validate activity reports from community health workers

Any other Assigned duties

  • Work closely with ARO to ensure proper implementation of CaP TB monthly activities planned for the region.

Required Qualifications

  • Language: bilingualism (French and English). However, fluency in French is a key requirement. In addition, being able to write reports and communicate professionally in English is absolutely required;
  • Level: University degree;
  • Degree in laboratory, public health, or other cadre of health system;
  • Minimum of 02 years’ experience working for TB and or TB/HIV or other health programs will be an advantage.
  • Have a good Knowledge of Microsoft Office Package, Familiar with Excel;
  • Good  interpersonal  skills,  Teamwork  and  Attitude;  Communication;  Efficiency  and Effectiveness; Leadership and Continuous Improvement.
