EVIHDAF (www.evihdaf.com) is an international research and development organization
headquartered in Yaoundé, Cameroon, which serves the West and Central Africa region. We
have an office in Niamey, Niger, and a Data Unit satellite office in Parakou, Benin. Utilizing a
diverse array of approaches rooted in rigorous design, adaptive, cutting-edge and locally
relevant methods, we provide services in Research, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
(RMEL); Data Systems for Decision-Making; Capacity Strengthening; and Program
Implementation and Scale-Up. We are positioned to serve as a Regional Hub for coordination
or various initiatives in West & Central Africa. Our practice areas include Health and Health
Systems, Nutrition and Food Security, Climate Change Preparedness and Resilience,
Education, and Population Migration and Displacements.
We are seeking a dynamic, motivated, and technically proficient candidate to join our
team as an IT & Data Security Assistant.
Position Summary
The IT & Data Security Assistant will be responsible for the essential IT and logistics support
functions of our operations, ensuring strict compliance with EVIHDAF policies, procedures,
and specific donor rules and regulations. The role is critical for maintaining robust security
and efficient, accountable use of resources across the organization.
This position requires familiarity with emerging technologies, particularly Artificial
Intelligence (AI), to ensure our systems and data infrastructure are prepared for future
integration and security challenges related to AI-driven tools.

Core Responsibilities
The selected candidate will manage and execute tasks across four key areas:
a) IT Infrastructure & Support (40%)
• Install, configure, and maintain software, operating systems, and specialized digital
tools.
• Manage, update, and maintain company IT assets (laptops, tablets, audio/video
devices, etc.).
• Provide timely and effective technical support to staff and manage all helpdesk
requests.
• Assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of internet and telephone systems.
• Maintain a detailed inventory of hardware devices, track ownership, and manage the
replacement of obsolete equipment.
• Provide training to staff on digital literacy and secure IT practices, including the
responsible and secure use of AI tools in the workplace.
• Develop and manage shared documents, websites, and workflows using SharePoint.
• Provide essential administrative IT support (e.g., on printers/copiers, data entry).
b) Data Security & Protection (25%)
• Support the implementation and adherence to comprehensive IT security and data
protection policies.
• Proactively monitor organizational systems for vulnerabilities, security incidents, and
abnormal behavior/intrusions.
• Manage full lifecycle data backup and restoration procedures to ensure business
continuity and recovery from data loss.
• Implement security tools, including antivirus, firewall, and endpoint protection, across
all workstations.
• Conduct awareness campaigns for users on security best practices (e.g., strong
passwords, phishing recognition, secure data sharing).
c) Systems & Network Management (20%)
• Maintain the basic network infrastructure (cabling, routers, switches, VPN access).
• Monitor system logs and network performance to ensure stability and detect
intrusions.
• Support software migration and deployment projects across all offices
d) Regulatory Compliance (15%)
• Ensure all IT practices and systems are in full compliance with recognized IT security
standards and donor requirements.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT incidents, operational
procedures, and user access permissions.
• Actively participate in internal and external audits by providing required information
and documentation
Qualifications and Experience
• Education: BAC+2 or BAC+3 (or equivalent) in Informatics, Computer Technology, or a
related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in IT support, systems
administration, or a similar role.
• Technical Skills:
o Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and infrastructure (e.g., VPNs,
routing, switches).
o Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity, data protection, and incident response.
o Familiarity with the recent versions of Microsoft Office 365/Microsoft 365 suite
(especially SharePoint) and standard office equipment.
o AI Familiarity: Demonstrable familiarity with AI tools and concepts, particularly
concerning data management, and applications in research/evaluation contexts.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and strong writing and oral communication
skills in both English and French is required.
• Soft Skills: Proven ability to work effectively under pressure, display proactivity, and
make sound, informed decisions.
