About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced, hard working Chief of Staff who will develop, lead and direct the implementation of company business strategy, objectives and plans. The Chief of Staff will play a critical role in supporting the CEO by facilitating internal coordination, managing special projects, and ensuring efficient operations. The role will closely work with operations, procurement and logistics, business development and quality management by aligning each department with the overall business strategies and goals of the company. The Chief of Staff will monitor, manage and report on the performance of the company including the performance of all company department heads. The Chief of Staff is also responsible for oversight and management of risk, driving synergy and collaboration across all operations and functions, and for fulfilling the requirements of the company in line with company procedures and policies.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Lead key reports, including staff responsible for the production of financial metrics, risk report, program reports, country reports and daily briefings for the CEO;
- Develop data analysis from reviewed reports in collaboration with all Team Heads for use in strategy design & decision-making;
- Where required, serve as the project lead on cross-institutional project teams and taskforces to carry out critical initiatives and projects prioritized by the CEO;
- Prepare an agenda for each strategy meeting and provide a summary of discussions and follow-up on action items resulting from each meeting to attendees, with coordination and support from the CEO. Occasionally represent the CEO in strategy meetings where required.
- Proactively elevate and surface issues that could impact the successful execution of the organization’s commitments;
- Maintain a high-level awareness of all ongoing work throughout the organization and coordinate projects or commitments involving multiple teams, ensuring alignment, communication, and leveraging of resources;
- Lives and drives the company’s values of Integrity, Respect, Innovation, Stewardship and Equity by role modeling behaviors in line with those values, and coaching a wider leadership team on the same.
- Help prepare press releases and work with the company’s business development team to provide high quality inputs and direction to media organizations;
- In collaboration with the CEO and Finance Manager, ensure that the institution’s financial and risk metrics and dashboards are kept up to date;
- Design executive-level presentations: create proposals, materials for key donor discussions, Board meetings, and enterprise-wide conversations;
- Envision and supervise the drafting of company presentations/briefings and ensure that the CEO is well- prepared for routine quarterly conference calls as well as other engagements with Donors;
- Direct projects that require coordination of several different offices and/or areas of the organization including personnel/management reviews, and special studies;
- Design reporting materials and/or reports for regulatory compliance;
- Support the CEO in strategic initiatives and special projects, providing research, analysis, and coordination as needed that move the organization forward in its mission and sustainability goals;
- Developing, together with staff and C level peers, new business lines and service models from concept and testing to productization and scale.
- Ensuring continuous operational performance improvement by managing changes to strategy, structure, and resources;
- Manage operations, procurement and logistics and business development staff;
- Responsible for performance monitoring and reporting standards;
- Ensuring operational adherence to applicable industry practices;
- Responsible for health and safety within the Company and suppliers’ compliance;
- Responsible for product and projects regulatory compliance to standards, norms and practices in the industry;
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Compétences / Exigences / Qualités
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in agriculture, economics, business, or related disciplines
- Strong speech-giving/writing and report-writing experience and capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to set out a coherent analysis in presentations. Working knowledge of French is an additional advantage.
- Strong diplomatic and communication skills, ability to develop a close and effective working relationship with the internal client at all levels.
- Client orientation – able to balance responsiveness and pro-activity in meeting internal client needs and concerns and to ensure the provision of value-added services as appropriate.
- Able to lead and manage major change and transition programs.
- Recognized management skills in a multicultural setting.
- Creative and lateral thinker able to recognize opportunities and propose solutions to problems.
- Inspirational leader, able to foster cooperative teamwork and outstanding achievement.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both as a team leader and player.
- At least 3 years of experience in a senior leadership role.
- The ability to prioritize work actions and follow-up with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
